Like so many of our community partners and clients, The Journey Project continues to monitor the COVID-19 developments closely. We know that this is an increasingly stressful time for many and are hoping to proactively adapt to any concerns and the needs of the people we serve. First and foremost, the health and well-being of the people we support is always our first priority. Due to ongoing developments, we are following the guidance of Public Health and are suspending all in-person support for the time being.
As of March 17th, 2020, The Journey Project will be cancelling any in-person meetings as well as any outreach/travel for the foreseeable future. Third-Party Reports are suspended until further notice. However, we will be working remotely to offer support to survivors of sexual violence. We know that the closing of many support services and the reduction/suspension of court and legal services in Newfoundland and Labrador places many of our clients in limbo. Know that you are not alone in this process and we will continue to support you. While we are engaging in social distancing and we may be operating at limited capacity, we will continue to use technology to support survivors throughout our province during this challenging time.
We will be checking messages (voicemail, landline, cell, and social media) Monday – Friday.
Please do not hesitate to reach out and a Legal Support Navigator will get back to you as soon as possible.
Email email@example.com or call 1-833-722-2805 with any questions.
If you have any legal questions that have come up during this difficult time that are beyond the scope of The Journey Project and our Sexual Violence Legal Support Service, contact Public Legal Information Association of Newfoundland and Labrador at 709-722-2643 or 1-888-660-7788 and leave a message. Messages will be checked regularly.
If you need immediate support, the NL Sexual Assault Crisis and Prevention Centre Crisis, Support, and Information Line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days of the year at 1-800-726-2743.
