This past year, PLIAN has developed a new type of presentation to deliver plain language information sessions about the criminal justice system by adopting a more informal approach, encouraging sharing and discussion amongst participants.
Sessions were delivered between the months of January and April 2016 in collaboration with community partners all over the province, including in Indigenous communities. During those few months, nearly 80 participants were reached in the locations of St. John’s, Stephenville, Port Saunders, Corner Brook, Gander, Grand Falls-Windsor, Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Nain.
This project was funded by the Access to Justice for Aboriginal Justice Strategy through the Capacity Building Fund.
