Job Posting: Legal Information Coordinator/Office Manager

The Public Legal Information Association of NL is seeking a dynamic and adaptable person to join us for a full-time maternity leave contract position of 7 months. The position is based on 35 hours a week. Salary will be negotiable and commensurate with experience.

The primary duties in this position include operating PLIAN’s legal information line and lawyer referral service every weekday from 9 AM – 12 PM and providing general legal information and referrals to clients. As well, the position involves performing general office management and accounting duties including payroll and project accounting. Other duties may arise in the course of the position, and may include but not be limited to assistance on legal education projects, coordination of volunteers, social media oversight and management, and assisting the Executive Director with research, writing, and editing on reports, presentations, and publications. Travel is unexpected but may be required in certain circumstances.

Legal and accounting experience are definite assets, but not requirements for this position. A successful candidate should have an interest in the law, experience directly working with clients or customers, and the ability to work independently on a variety of tasks in a challenging work environment.
